Congratulations to our April Photo of the Month winner, Luke Evans, with his fantastic image, “Milford Mirror”.
We asked Luke about the inspiration behind his winning photo, and he shared that the photograph came about somewhat unexpectedly.
He had originally set out to capture images of harbour porpoises at the entrance to the Haven, but the elusive animals proved too camera shy on the day.
However, after a long, wet and windy winter, the conditions had shifted. Calm seas and bright sunshine created a striking scene, offering a welcome change and an opportunity to capture something quite different.
The resulting image reflects that moment perfectly, a sense of stillness and clarity, paired with the quiet anticipation of the season ahead. It captures not just the landscape, but the feeling that summer is just around the corner, along with the promise of more time spent out on the water.
Each month we encourage berth holders, visitors and photographers of all abilities to enter their pictures into our Photo of the Month competition. Entries should have a focus on capturing the spirit of the Milford Haven Waterway, including the boating community, scenery, wildlife, coastline and sunsets, and Milford Marina itself.
