Meeting the diverse range of people that arrive at the marina and working closely with my colleagues in other departments.
I also find that no two days are ever the same, the job is so varied, lifting boats and towing vessels one day to working the lock gates at Pier Head the next.
I am a 5th dan karate instructor and run my local karate club in Milford Haven. I have won many domestic competitions, but my highlight is winning a bronze medal at the 2017 IKU World Championships in Kilkenny in Ireland. I am hoping to compete at the WUKF World Championships in Slovakia next June.
Always be prepared! Make sure you have a life jacket, always carry a handheld radio with you when you’re out on your boat, and make sure you have plenty of fendering and lines to avoid damage to your vessel.
